Seedlings Green Guide at Central Florida
Want to be a part of creating a bright green future? Here's all you need to know about our campus and our city to help you make truly sustainable choices.
On my campus
UCF has three main sustainability goals: to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, become a zero waste campus, and integrate sustainability across all disciplines. The university has a Sustainability Advisory Committee, which investigates and supports sustainable solutions along with a Student Sustainability Advisory Committee and Sustainability Working Advisory Teams.
My city and state
The city of Orlando is focusing on six main areas to improve sustainability: zero waste, transportation and mobility, liveability, local food systems, clean water, and clean energy and buildings. As part of its goal of eliminating solid landfill waste by 2040, the city hosts webinars and workshops to help residents recycle properly and adopt other green habits.
What can I do?
The task of tackling climate change can at times seem overwhelming, but it is important that we remain hopeful as we navigate the challenges ahead. The world is full of positive stories that highlight how our creativity, solidarity, and engagement can help change mindsets and move environmental policies forwards.

There is power in numbers and successes matter at all levels: whether it is something as big as your university divesting from fossil fuels, or as small as you turning down plastic bags at the grocery store, celebrate them all!
